NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Kent State University men's basketball team pulled the upset against unbeaten SEC opponent Vanderbilt, 77-75 on Friday night at the Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tenn. The last time the Flashes beat a member of the SEC was back in 2002 against Alabama at the NCAA Tournament.
Kent State improves to 5-1 on the season, while the Commodores fell to 4-1.
"I'm really happy that our team got this win today against a really good opponent," said head coach Rob Senderoff. "Vanderbilt is a really good team and I think they'll get better as the year goes on, but for our guys, this is a great win.
