EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Excellent pitching and offensive contributions throughout the lineup allowed Kent State beat Evansville in both games of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon at Cooper Stadium. The Golden Flashes took the opening game, 9-1 in six innings, and earned an 8-2 victory in the second game.
"It was great to see our energy carry over from last night's effort at Alabama," said head coach Eric Oakley. "I am proud of this team for not having a letdown after playing in such an intense atmosphere last night and then having to sit on a bus for a combined six hours overnight and this morning.
