KENT, Ohio- The Kent State University (8-5, 3-0) field hockey team won its fourth-straight game as the Flashes claimed first place in the MAC with a 3-2 victory over Miami.
Despite the Flashes (7-6, 2-1) being outshot by the RedHawks 21-6, Kent State was able to score on three of their five shots on goal.
The RedHawks were able to get on the board first in the 24th-minute of play on a direct penalty corner feed. Just one minute later, Kent State tied the game as Hailie Balachick scored for the third time this season off a penalty corner.
