KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's soccer team (2-0-0) posted another shutout to start the season, winning their 10th straight game against Akron (0-2-0) on Sunday with a 1-0 scoreline at Zoeller Field at Dix Stadium.
The Golden Flashes' defense stifled the Zips' attack all afternoon, holding them to just two shots on goal. The defensive unit of Tianna Harris, Riley Ford, Dalaney Ranallo, and Keyosha Donkor did an excellent job of eliminating shooting opportunities for Akron and midfielder Maddie Holmes won a number of 50-50 balls in the midfield to control the game for Kent State.
