YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Despite dropping the first two sets of the night and then falling behind 9-2 in the fifth set, Kent State found a way to leave the Beeghly Center Tuesday evening with a 3-2 (20-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 15-12) win over Youngstown State.
The Golden Flashes (5-2) scored five straight to get within 9-7. The Penguins recorded a block to end the run, but Kent State went ahead by taking the next six points. YSU made it interesting with two points in a row to cut the Flashes' lead to 13-12 but a service error gave the Flashes two chances at set point.
