KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day in style on Sunday, beating Duquesne 2-1 in a physical matchup at Zoeller Field at Dix Stadium.
The Golden Flashes wrap up non-conference play with a 3-2-2 record, while the Dukes fall to 3-5-0 on the year.
Both teams played physical from the first whistle and never let up on the intensity. The Flashes held a slim 9-7 advantage in shots in the first half, but neither side could find the back of the net. Alisa Arthur led the Flashes' attack early, firing four shots on goal, but found the woodwork once and was turned away by a diving stop by the Dukes' keeper on another strong attempt.
