BUFFALO, N.Y. — Kent State held Buffalo to three points over the final five minutes and scored on its final four possessions for a hard-fought 72-69 victory on Wednesday.
The Golden Flashes (16-8, 8-5 MAC) outscored their host 18-10 in the fourth quarter to earn their first victory at Alumni Arena since Jan. 8, 2011.
With shots from the perimeter not falling at the normal rate, Kent State attacked the basket and finished with 42 points in the paint to tie its most this season. The Flashes also took great control of the ball and committed a season-low four turnovers.
