KENT, OHIO- The Golden Flashes rallied with single tallies in the seventh and the eighth and Max Rippl retired all seven batters he faced as Kent State knocked off #25 UConn 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at Schoonover Stadium.
It is the first victory over a ranked team for the Flashes since they knocked off then second-ranked Mississippi State last season.
The game followed the same back-and-forth script as the first two games of the series, Justin Kirby set the stage with a titanic blast over the left field wall in the first to give Kent State a 2-0 lead.
