KENT, Ohio — The Kent State women's basketball team defeated Lake Erie, 84-20, in front of more than 1,500 local elementary students in attendance at the M.A.C. Center on Tuesday for School Field Trip Day presented by Ohio's 529 College Advantage.
The next generation of hoopers witnessed a historic defensive performance, as this set a new record for fewest points allowed in a game, which was previously 25. The Storm shot just 5-of-46 for a 10.9% shooting percentage and had 33 turnovers, which the Golden Flashes (5-4) converted into 39 points.
