CLEVELAND - Twelve Kent State student-athletes were named to the 2018 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Football Team Monday by the conference office. For the second straight year, the Golden Flashes finished in top half of the MAC in total players represented.
Linebacker Matt Bahr (Kenton, Ohio) and offensive lineman Chase Van Hoef (Grand Haven, Mich.) headlined Kent State's list as three-time selections. Bahr recently announced his plans for returning in 2019, after being granted another year of eligibility by the NCAA.
Five Flashes claimed spots on the Academic All-MAC Team for the second time in their careers, while five others are making first time appearances.
