Kent State struggled to produce runs in their last series against Notre Dame, a two-game split; however, that was not the case in their sweep over Western Michigan this weekend.
The Flashes (15-9, 4-2 Mid-American Conference) combined to score 25 runs in three games against the Broncos (11-14, 1-5 MAC), including an 11-run blowout in their last game of the series on Sunday.
Game 1: Kent State 6, Western Michigan 2
After a slow first inning, Kent State was able to get on the board in the top of the second. Junior third baseman Pavin Parks led off the inning with a double down the right field line to spark the offense.
