Orlando, FLA... After the opening round of this year's UCF Challenge, the Kent State women's golf team sits in ninth place, just four strokes out of the top five.
The Flashes were led on Sunday by Mayka Hoogeboom, who carded a 69 on the day and will enter tomorrows middle round in a tie for 12th.
It was also a strong day for reigning MAC Freshman of the Year Jennifer Gu, who posted a score of 70 to guarantee Kent State a second spot in the top 25.
The team will once again lead off the second round with a Monday tee-time of 8:30 ET, paired with Kentucky and Texas A&M.
