UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Kent State field hockey team (1-4) falls to No. 11 Penn State (3-2) this afternoon.
The Nittany Lions came out strong in the first quarter to take the lead 1-0 with less than one minute of play. Holding Penn State to a one goal lead, Cecile van Eijck made three saves before the half.
In the third quarter, the Nittany Lions scored two more goals to bring the score 3-0. Five minutes before the quarter ended, Penn State converted a penalty corner and led 4-0.
Before the end of regulation, the Nittany Lions scored to bring the final 5-0.
