KENT, Ohio – Kent State came out on the short end of a Mid-American Conference East Division battle with preseason favorite Bowling Green on Friday night, falling 3-1 (8-25, 21-25, 26-24, 26-28) inside of the M.A.C. Center.
The Golden Flashes (9-3, 0-1 MAC) had three players post a double-double. Graduate student Alex Haffner registered 26 digs and 11 assists, senior Savannah Matthews totaled a team-high 13 kills and 11 digs and freshman Mackenzie McGuire added 11 kills and 12 digs. Graduate student Danie Tyson just missed joining them and finished with nine kills and a season-best nine blocks.
