CLEVELAND, Ohio – Jimmy Hall scored 24 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and hit a string of late free throws as No. 6 Kent State ended Buffalo's reign as Mid-American Conference champions with a 68-65 quarterfinal victory on Thursday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
Deon Edwin added a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Golden Flashes, who advance to face No. 2 Ohio University in Friday's 8 p.m. semifinal. The win helped Kent State reach the 20-win plateau at 20-13. No. 1 Akron faces No. 4 Ball State in Friday's first semifinal game.
