KENT- The Golden Flashes defense swarmed the RedHawks on Saturday but Miami prevailed 23-3 on Parents and Family weekend at Dix Stadium.
The Flashes harassed Miami's Brett Gabbert all afternoon long, recording four sacks and five tackles for loss from five different players. Kent State held Miami to 292 yards of offense, the third time this season the Flashes have held their opponent under 300 yards.
Mike Alaimo threw for 170 yards on Saturday including 110 to Chrishon McCray, a career high for the wide out. McCray had a 32-yard catch-and-run on the Flashes' opening drive that set up a 27-yard field goal for Andrew Glass, giving the Flashes a 3-0 lead.
