ATHENS, Ohio – The Kent State softball team (17-18, 7-2 MAC) earned a series win over Ohio (25-16, 6-6 MAC) with a 1-0 triumph at the Ohio Softball Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Golden Flashes have not lost a Mid-American Conference series yet this season and held their ground atop the league standings.

The game was a pitcher's duel as both Kent State's Andrea Scali and Ohio's Madi McCrady settled in and were dominant.
The Golden Flashes scored the game's only run in the sixth inning. Kennadie Goth led off the frame with a walk and Bailey Brownfield followed with a base hit to left.
