CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Kent State men's basketball team (0-1) dropped its season opener against Xavier (2-0) on Friday night at the Cintas Center.
Despite the hard-fought battle from the Golden Flashes, the team dropped its first season opener since the 2007-08 season.
"We played a really good team and we competed for a long time," said Head Coach Rob Senderoff. "We have got to get better on the glass. We have got to get better finishing at the rim. It is the first game in a long season, and we will continue to get better from this.
