Flashes Drop 78-66 Wagon Wheel Game

AKRON, Ohio – Wednesday night was a typical battle in the Wagon Wheel Challenge, with Kent State (5-15, 2-11) leading for the first half but Akron (13-11, 7-6) coming back to take the game by a score of 78-66.

Larissa Lurken started things off by draining a three and the Golden Flashes' defense forced three early turnovers to give Kent State some good momentum to start the game. The Zips were able to come back and take a lead but the Flashes got in front after a layup by Tyra James and jumper from McKenna Stephens to lead 22-19 at the end of the first.
