St Louis, Mo.- The Kent State field hockey team (3-3) fell, 2-1, on the road to Fairfield (4-1) at a neutral site on Friday afternoon at Sportport International.
After a scoreless first half, Fairfield got on the board in the 34th minute from a shot in the center of the circle. The Stags doubled their advantage in the final quarter with a goal just 42 seconds into the period.
The Stags' two-goal lead stuck until freshman Claudia Ortiz scored the Flashes' lone goal with a long shot to the far post.
