KALAMAZOO- Mike McNamara drove in a pair, but a pair of big innings, including a four-run sixth was too much to overcome in a 9-3 setback at Western Michigan in the series opener.
McNamara gave the Flashes an early lead with a two-out single in the first, plating Tim Orr who had reached on a two-out double. Two innings later,he brought the Flashes within one with a sac fly. Connor Ashby tied the game in the fifth with his first homer of the season.
Western Michigan had taken the lead in the second, scoring a trio off a single, walk and hit batter with the bases loaded.
