KENT, Ohio- In its first Mid-American Conference match of the year, Kent State's (5-5, 1-0) offensive efforts led the Flashes in the 5-1 victory over Ohio (4-3, 1-2) on Saturday at Murphy-Mellis Field.
The Flashes outshot the Bobcats 28-10 with 13 shots on target tor Ohio's seven.
It didn't take long for the Flashes' offense to start attacking as sophomore Luisa Knapp scored the opening goal from a long outlet pass from Ashley Bonetz within the first three minutes of the game. Four minutes later, Clara Rodriguez Seto scored her sixth-goal of the season that put Kent State ahead, 2-0.
