KENT, OHIO- Kent State welcomed in two power-five programs in the #29 Michigan State Spartans and #19 Oklahoma Sooners for the Kent State Tri-Meet on Saturday inside the M.A.C. Center.
The Golden Flashes pulled out a pair of wins in each dual, falling to Oklahoma 29-7 and to Michigan State 36-6. In the neutral site match, Michigan State held off the Sooners 21-16.
Against the Sooners, freshman Earl Blake got things rolling for the Golden Flashes. The Maryland native fought back in his match with Tommy Hoskins to force overtime. Blake then earned a takedown in the first extra frame to earn the sudden victory.
