COLUMBUS, Ohio - Kent State track and field's Gabrielle Figueroa and Reggie Jagers III each set personal-records in the hammer throw Friday, the first day of the Jesse Owens Classic.
Figueroa competed in the women's hammer throw championship division, taking fourth with a mark of 60.48m (198' 5"), extending her career-best mark by nearly a foot. Figueroa continues to hold the third-best mark in Kent State history. In the women's hammer throw open division, Rebecca Leppelmeier finished 10th with a mark of 52.38m (171' 10")
In the men's hammer throw championship division, Jagers threw 64.
