CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Kent State University field hockey team has been tabbed to finish second in the Mid-American Conference regular season in the conference's preseason coaches' poll, the league announced Wednesday afternoon (August 22).
Kent State received a total of 42 points from the coaches, as well as one vote to win the MAC Tournament Championship.
The Miami RedHawks were selected to repeat as both the regular season champion and the MAC tournament champions. In 2017, Kent State finished second in both the regular season and the tournament, falling to Miami in the tournament championship in overtime, 2-1.
