The Kent State field hockey program was honored this week by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for its academic excellence as the team was named a 2015 National Academic Team, 13 students were named to the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Squad and three student were named 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Scholars of Distinction.
The National Academic Team Award is given to programs with a 3.0 grade point average or higher. The team posted an impressive 3.49 this past fall semester with 18 students achieving a 3.0 or higher.
Aileen Ahlers, Jessica Apelt, Ines Delpech, Susanne Felder, Silvia Figa-Malgosa, Jamie Fries, Alayna Harris, Laura Kingsmill, Alexis Madeira, Jessica Nesbitt, Carolyn Sloss, Shannon Talbot and Courtney Weise were all named National Academic Squad members for having a cumulative GPA of 3.
