Field Hockey Falls Short to Saint Francis

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State University field hockey team's effort fell short in a 2-1 loss to Saint Francis University. Gridlocked until the 55th minute, the Flashes responded to back-to-back Red Flash goals with a goal by freshman Sydney Carr, her second of the season.

The first half featured a defensive battle between the two teams as the game remained scoreless heading into halftime. The Flashes (2-9, 01 MAC) held Saint Francis (5-5, 2-0 A-10) to just 3 shots in the half, attacking the goal 8 times.

The stalemate ended in the second period with a flurry of goals in the 55th minute.
