KENT, Ohio –The Kent State University field hockey team (4-9, 2-1 MAC) picked up its second Mid-American Conference win, defeating Central Michigan (1-13, 0-4 MAC), 5-1, at Murphy-Mellis Field on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Hailie Balachick led the Kent State attach, netting two goals on the day.
The Flashes dominated the game offensively out of the gate, taking the first shot of the game in the first minute of play and gaining a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute. Balachick fired the first shot from in front of the goal on a pass from senior Courtney Weise.
