Sophomore Jake Ferri came away with a 12-8 win against Devi Schnupp in Kent State's first match of the day Sunday against Penn State.
Kent State (3-5) had two different wrestlers at 125-pounds this season, but the win by Ferri is the most impressive win of the Flashes' young season.
“Jake did a great job of keeping the pressure on his opponent in the second and third period,” coach Jim Andrassy said. “He overcame a hostile environment to get the biggest win of his career.”
The Flashes went on to get pinned in seven of the remaining nine matches.
