Explosive Plays Not Enough for Kent State Against Rival Akron

KENT — Kent State dropped a 38-17 decision to rival Akron on Tuesday night as part of midweek #MACtion at Dix Stadium.

The Golden Flashes led 7-0 just 91 seconds in, as Tommy Ulatowski connected with Luke Floriea for an 80-yard touchdown pass. Akron responded with 17 unanswered points. At 8:35 left in the second quarter Will Hryszko kicked a field goal to cut the Zips' lead to seven. Akron led by 13 at the half and added 15 points before the clock hit all zeros. The Flashes were able to put up another TD in the fourth quarter as Ulatowski found Chrishon McCray for a 37-yard pass leading to the final score.
