The first two meets of the year for the Kent State cross country team have been defined by the performance of the underclassmen.

That did not change Friday.

Freshman Maddie Dunlap came into Friday’s race looking to improve upon her 6k PR of 22:24, and that is exactly what she did. She took 13th overall and was the second freshman to cross the line. She dropped her time down to 22:12.

The rest of the Flashes followed suit, as the second spot on the team was filled by junior Harrison Davis. Davis improved upon her 24:02 performance at the Redhawk Rumble.
