Defense Dominant in Flashes Shutout Win at Northern Illinois

DEKALB, Ill. – The Kent State soccer team's (10-4-1, 6-1-0 MAC) defense was dominant once again, in a 1-0 shutout win over Northern Illinois (7-6-1, 4-3-0 MAC) at the NIU Soccer Complex in DeKalb. The Golden Flashes remain in first-place in the Mid-American Conference with 18 points.

Kent State added to its league-best nine shutouts, and tied the 2016 MAC Tournament Championship team for the second most in program history.

The lone tally of the match was scored by senior Donavan Capehart in the 25th minute when she launched a cross from the right six yards out and found the back of the net.
