KENT, OHIO- Kent State running back Marquez Cooper has been named to the Maxwell Award Watch List as announced by the Maxwell Football Club.
The Maxwell Award has been given to the "College Football Player of the Year" since 1937. The Award is named for Robert "Tiny" Maxwell, a standout a Swarthmore College and later a sportswriter and football official.
Cooper makes it three-straight seasons for a Golden Flash on the annual Maxwell Award Watch List. Now Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Dustin Crum earned the honor each of the previous two seasons.
