BOWLING GREEN-Kent State cracked four homers, two in a four-run first inning in a 10-1 runaway victory over the host Bowling Green Falcons on Saturday afternoon.
Lefty Joe Whitman took it from there, as he tossed six innings of two-hit, one-run baseball. Jack Kartsonas and Ciaran Caughey threw three innings of scoreless relief in support of Whitman.
It was a balanced offensive effort on Saturday as every player who recorded an at-bat had at least one base hit and six knocked in at least one run. Kyle Jackson got things started with a homer to lead-off the game.
