KENT- Nine Golden Flashes combined for 14 strike outs and a six-hit shutout on Wednesday night in a 6-0 Kent State victory over the Malone Pioneers in a fall ball exhibition at Schoonover Stadium.
Jake Casey cracked a pair of home runs and drove in three in the victory. Kolton Schaller added to the excitement with an inside-the-park home run that caromed off the top of the right-center field wall in the second.
That would be more than enough for the Kent State pitching staff as they spun a gem on Wednesday night, scattering six hits across nine innings.
