CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior outside hitter Kelsey Bittinger has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
This is the second Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season for Bittinger, who posted 31 kills (3.88 kills/set) and a .321 hitting percentage to lead Kent State to its first two conference wins of the season.
Bittinger started the week with 15 kills in a five-set victory against Ohio. Trailing 2-0 in the decisive fifth set, she got the Flashes on the board with a kill and added three more kills during an 8-0 run that put Kent State in control of the set.
