KENT, Ohio – The Kent State softball team lost the series finale against Western Michigan, 8-2, at Devine Diamond on Sunday.
Freshman Megan Nuechterlein held the Broncos to one hit over the first three innings as it remained scoreless entering the top of the fourth before the guest scored first on a bunt single, error and sac fly.
The Golden Flashes (19-17, 5-9 MAC) answered in the bottom half of the inning, as sophomore Bri Despines beat out an infield single and then scored on a two-out triple by graduate student Julia Mazanec.
