TUSCON, Ariz. – The Kent State University baseball team landed the No. 25 recruiting class in the nation, according to Collegiate Baseball's 2018 evaluation of NCAA Division I baseball classes.
Head coach Jeff Duncan, assisted by long-time Kent State pitching coach, Mike Birkbeck, as well as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Derek Simmons, looks to build upon last season's sweep of Mid-American Conference regular season and tournament championship, adding 13 new players spanning seven states to the 2019 roster.
There are three things the coaching staff looks for in recruiting – good students, good character, and the ability to win.
