Barrett and Nell Lead Flashes on First Day of Northeast Ohio Quad

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Kalli Barrett and Christy Nell entered their names into the Kent State outdoor record book during Friday's action at the Northeast Ohio Quad.

Barrett got the action started on the track by running the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:04.55, which was good for second-place and the 10th-fastest time in Golden Flashes history.

Nell cleared 12'-7.5" on her first attempt and finished third in the women's pole vault. The junior's height puts her ninth in the school's record book. Maria Horrigan and Ally Thompson were also able to clear the bar at 12'-7.
