CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Kent State junior Baidy Ba finished 162nd at the 2023 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Panorama Farms Cross Country Course.
Running at the national meet for the second year in a row, Ba completed the 10K course in 31:11.9. He sat 49th in the field of 254 after just 1,000 meters but steadily dropped behind and was in 174th place with 1,000 meters to go. Ba closed with his fastest 1,000-meter split since the start of the race and jumped 12 spots.
The sixth runner in Golden Flashes cross country history to qualify for multiple NCAA Championships, Ba now turns his focus on the indoor track and field season.
