ROCK HILL, SC- Luke Albright tossed six shutout innings to earn his first victory of the season and Collin Mathews and Michael Turner had two-hit games as Kent State handed Winthrop its first loss of the season, 5-2 on Friday afternoon.
The Flashes struck early on Friday afternoon, scoring in each of the first three innings. In the first, Kent State took advantage of a one-out triple by Michael Turner as he was brought in on a Justin Kirby ground out. Small ball manufactured a run in the second as Mack Timbrook was hit for the first of three times on Friday to start the inning.
