Williamson's second-place finish caps strong showing for K-State women at NCAA outdoor

EUGENE, Ore. — High Jump U. has two more trophies for the case.

Kansas State’s Kimberly Williamson capped the final day of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a second-place finish in the high jump, with teammate Akela Jones finishing fourth. Their performances helped the Wildcat women crack the top 10 of the team standings and finish in a ninth-place tie with Texas.

K-State’s high jumpers are traditionally among the best in the country under coach Cliff Rovelto, and Williamson — a junior from Frankfield, Jamaica — was happy to perpetuate the tradition.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” she said.
