A few good things happened for Peyton Williams on Monday between the time she woke up and when she went to bed.
First, the K-State forward was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week for her 15-point, 12-rebound effort on Friday. Williams’ debut double-double was the first K-State has seen since that of Kendra Wecker, whose uniform hangs in the Bramlage Coliseum rafters and whose name is etched into Wildcat lore.
A few hours later, Williams helped the Wildcats remain spotless at 2-0 and logged eight points and seven rebounds in K-State’s 82-62 win over Tulsa, another solid outing from the volleyball-basketball athlete.
