The 2017 installment of the K-State baseball team may not have ended the way the Wildcats wanted — void of postseason action — but they may have reason for confidence in the next few seasons.
Two of K-State’s standout freshmen, Will Brennan and Cameron Thompson, were named Freshman All-Americans by the Collegiate Baseball newspaper Wednesday morning, becoming the eighth and ninth freshmen in school history to claim such honors.
Brennan used a .350 batting average to break the program record in 2017, along the way collecting Big 12 top-10s in hitting, on-base percentage (.453), hits (64) and walks (34).
