The sun never came out Saturday, but the Kansas State baseball team was able to shine as it avenged its 14-1 series-opening loss against Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a 3-1 victory.
The win gave K-State coach Brad Hill his 900th career victory.
“It was just a great pitching effort,” Hill said. “Offensively, we’re not where we’d like to be but credit goes to Parker Rigler, he gave us a great start. That’s what we needed after yesterday (with UWM) scoring 14 runs. The pitchers are over there watching and it makes them kind of nervous. But I thought he did a great job of coming out and commanding the zone… He was obviously very good today.
