COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Kansas State women are moving on.
The Wildcats rallied from nine points down Friday night to beat George Washington, 56-51, in the opening round of the NCAA tournament at Colonial Life Arena.
It is the first win in the NCAA tournament for the ninth-seeded Wildcats since the 2011-12 season. K-State will now play No. 1-seed and third-ranked South Carolina on Sunday night at 7 with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.
The Wildcats (19-12) outscored George Washington by 10 in the third quarter to erase the nine-point halftime deficit.
