Wildcats pick up third straight win

Senior infielder Jake Scudder’s RBI single in the top of the eighth inning Sunday broke a 2-2 tie to help the Kansas State baseball claim a 3-2 victory over Ohio State at the Sunshine State Classic Series.

K-State (3-1), winners of three straight, tallied 10 hits on the afternoon on its way to its best start through four games since 2011 (4-0).

The Wildcats brought home single runs in the top halves of the first and fifth innings to go along with Scudder’s game-winning RBI.

Sophomore catcher Josh Rolette ignited the K-State scoring with an RBI single in the first that scored Steve Serratore, who earlier in the inning knocked a two-out single.
