Wildcats outlast Texas Tech, 44-38

Texas Tech’s offense was as prolific as advertised.

But Kansas State scored in all three phases of the game and the defense stood tall in the second half to help the Wildcats win 44-38 on Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

The game ultimately came down to one final play after Texas Tech, which boasts the No. 1 offense in the country, drove 75 yards in eight plays and scored to pull within six points of the K-State lead with five seconds to play.

The Red Raiders retrieved an onside kick at K-State’s 49 to give themselves a chance to win.
