When Danny Krause rounded third and headed for home, it looked like Kansas State was about to score a walk-off win in the 10th inning Wednesday night.
But a perfect throw from Oral Roberts’ leftfielder Rolando Martinez and a well-timed tag from catcher Matt Whatley kept the game going for another inning.
Oral Roberts then scored four runs in the top of the 11th to beat the Wildcats, 14-10, at Tointon Family Stadium.
K-State (12-14) coach Brad Hill said his team battled at the plate, but didn’t get it done on the mound.
“That was rough,” Hill said of the game.
