MANHATTAN — Wesley Iwundu is the survivor, the only member of Kansas State’s five-man basketball recruiting class of 2012 still on the team.
The other four — Marcus Foster, Nigel Johnson, Jevon Thomas and Jack Karapetyan — have departed via dismissal (Foster) or transfer, leaving Iwundu as the veteran of the 2015-16 Wildcat roster.
“It feels like everything went by fast,” Iwundu said. “I was talking to my mom the other day and she said it’s my third year and I’m going to graduate after next year.”
Iwundu, a 6-foot-7 junior forward, said the internal turmoil of last year’s 15-17 team “is in the books” and he is ready to step forward and lead the Wildcats to a new beginning with 10 newcomers on the roster.
